You will usually need Adobe software during your Adobe course. You'll need it to do your homework, the exercises and even to simply have fun trying things out. You can use a full version or a trial and of course, you can even purchase the software here.
You can buy single software packages such as Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign. You can also choose to invest in a complete suite that combines multiple applications.
You can download a trial version of the software you will use during your course or education. Please note that trials can be used for a week at most.

Adobe software is available as a complete package, or as individual apps. Depending on your plan you will receive additional cloud storage to make sure your work is accessible any time, any place. It is even possible to share your work with others and let them join in the creative process.
The Cloud software will have to be downloaded and installed, in spite of its name the software is locally installed, on your own computer.

You will need a subscription with Adobe for individual software and for the entire suites.
The subscription is valid for a year. During that year you have full access to the software and you can install and use it on two computers. This way you can work whether you're at work or on the road, on your desktop and your laptop.
Adobe licenses the use of their software per year, but you can pay per month or per year. You cannot subscribe for, say, 2 months only.

You do not need an internet connection to use the Cloud software, the name is a bit confusing. You can (and almost exclusively can) use the software locally even if you don't have internet, but you will be required to log into the Adobe server so Adobe can verify your use of the software.
You also need a connection to see if there are updates and new versions.
Single applications (apps) are, for example, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign and of course Dreamweaver. You can buy this software individually without having to buy the entire Creative Cloud Suite.
Individual apps are great if you really only need one single app to do your work and perform all tasks. This is a lot cheaper than then entire suite.

If you subscribe to the suite you can use any application in the suite, such as Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign but even video editors and sound editors, or new apps to create interfaces. Compare this to the old Master Collection.
Complete Cloud suite subscription is great if you need to use more than three apps: three individual apps are more expensive than the entire suite.

Photographers are special clients for Adobe. They use Photoshop and Lightroom. So Adobe created a special package that contains both Photoshop and Lightroom for photographers.
Photoshop in this package is less expanded than the 'regular Photoshop' though, which explains why it is cheaper. It contains less functions. Compare the latest functions on the Adobe website.

Student software
As a LearningTrain student, you can ask Adobe for a student license. Adobe will ask you for the specifications for your education to make sure you get the correct plan. This will save you money and give you the time to use the software while you learn how to use it.
Please note that student software can only be used on one desktop or laptop computer, that the license is valid for one year, and that you cannot create commercial designs with it. The whole idea is to make the software cheaper while you learn how to use it.

Install the software only after your first lesson, unless of course you bring the software to lass. In that case make sure the software is installed, there is no time to install the software during your lesson.
There may come a time when you want information on, or even help with your software, or you may run into specific situations at work that require someone to think along with you. There are lots of fora, fortunately. But remember most of these fora are in English. It is a good idea to know the correct terms to find help. If you have a different software language you will need to look this up first to let the Adobe helpdesk person help you.
To get help after you purchase the software, you will get help from an English spoken Adobe helpdesk. You will have to know how to ask the questions to be helped. It's a good idea to have the English software: this way you know what to look for.
If you have to exchange files with colleagues in other countries, as is often the case in fashion, it's a good idea to use the English software. This is more universal and will help you out exchanging ideas.
You can download and install, and manage your subscription through the Adobe website. This means the software is yours and LearningTrain does not manage or maintain your software. It is licensed in your name.
Please note some companies still sell old software, like CS6. This software though has been recalled by Adobe years ago, chances are you will not get legal software in spite of paying a high price.
Companies can buy high volume licenses through LearningTrain. This is great if you need many licenses since it will lower the costs if you need many seats.
